Yes correct - it will work even for the first octet (192.*).

Oh, you can use a wildcard a low as the 3rd octet?

So these would be valid?

192.168.*
192.168.2*
192.168.12*

192.168.2.*
192.168.2.1*

All those would be OK?

Sorry yapadu,

The CIDR notation is only available in the IP blacklist, not in the whitelist. However... In the IP whitelist you can for example enter this wildcarded entry for the /16 subnet:

192.168.*

Note that the above notation will only block 192.168.0.0 --> 192.168.255.255. It will not interfere with substrings (IPs that contain 192.168 in them), for example it will *not* block:
1.192.168.2

I'm trying to do whitelisting by CIDR, like this:

209.85.222.0/16

Doesn't seem to have any impact.

I found a VERY old thread where using CIDR was talked about for blacklisting

However, I've found nothing about whitelisting using a CIDR.  Can anyone confirm, if it is supported or not?  Or am I just doing something wrong?
