Has anyone had problems with inbound email being delayed hours or days? It arrives - just long after it was sent. Problem only came up since Friday, and only a few reports from users, so it's intermittant.

I'm researching my firewall and SpamFilter logs now. Haven't found anything yet. Obviously the problem could be external to my systems - likely won't be able to track that down if that's the case.  My email server is Exchange, although I've not had this problem with it before.

If anyone has had problems with this, I wanted to check any likely causes. Any info on similar experiences appreciated.

We have not seen this problem being caused by SpamFilter before. If you have access to those emails, you could look at the source IP address they came from, and then do a search for that IP in the SpamFilter logs. As soon as an incoming connection is detected by SpamFilter, it is immediately logged. That may give you an indication of when it happened and if the connection was refused for some reason.

Thanks Roberto. I finally got enough info from the recipients. I was able to track most of the emails in both our firewall and SpamFilter logs. It appears that the delays were external to our system entirely. Not surprising. The ones that I couldn't account for evidently didn't arrive at our firewall in the first place, so I'm having the intended recipients backtrack to the senders' server admins for log entries. Ahhhh, archeology! :)
