 Hi,

  Would like to see this option actually stop receiving mail from an IP after hitting the theshold, instead of rejecting with a message about max recipients being reached, just refuse connections from that IP for a settable length of time. I believe this is called tar pitting.

Logic would be: If max # messages are received from a single IP in a single session,  silently drop  traffic further from that IP for X seconds (where the X seconds would be settable)

We do mail for some large companies and sometimes everyone at the company may get mail and of course it stops half way through because of our max recipients threshold and causes all kinds of consternation on our customers part.

With this suggestion the senders server could try again later to get his messages through without getting confusing messages about whu not everyone had their messages delivered.

If the email is coming from a valid source and you notice this issue for them, simply add them to your whitelist and it will by-pass the recipient restrictions. I dumped out our companies database of registered customers and vendors, exported to a text file, formatted, and added them to our whitelist. This keeps all our partners, customers, vendors, etc. from being applied to the filters so that those blanket, yet valid, emails come through unscathed.

Just a thought anyway...
