Is there a way of blocking e-mails that have garbage like in the below example? It says first that it was returned, then the next line says it was fowarded. So why did it do that?

05/08/03 10:55:51:998 -- (1104) Sending email from 国际微笑组织 to mailto:info@comtrol.com" CLASS="ASPForums" TITLE="WARNING: URL created by poster. - info@comtrol.com
05/08/03 10:55:52:128 -- (1104) EMail from: 国际微笑组织 to: mailto:info@comtrol.com" CLASS="ASPForums" TITLE="WARNING: URL created by poster. - info@comtrol.com   was returned to sender - server error - Syntax error in parameters scanning "FROM"
05/08/03 10:55:52:258 -- (1104) Error-email from 国际微笑组织 to mailto:info@comtrol.com" CLASS="ASPForums" TITLE="WARNING: URL created by poster. - info@comtrol.com   was forwarded to localhost

The garbage in the "from" address comes from the "from" header in the email. SpamFilter is not currently verifying that, it only verifies the one indicated in the "MAIL FROM" smtp commands. It may be a good idea to scan the one in the headrs though, to avoid a situation like yours. We'll add it to the "to do" list.

FYI - the delivery attempt was not to your  mailto:info@comtrol.com" CLASS="ASPForums" TITLE="WARNING: URL created by poster. - info@comtrol.com  account, but rather to the (bogus) sender of the email. SpamFilter forwarded the message to your SMTP server. Your SMTP server did not like the format of the email, rejected the email from SpamFilter, returning the error <Syntax error in parameters scanning "FROM">. SpamFilter then tried to notify the sender that there was a problem delivering his email, which also failed since the from was bogus.
