We are, quite noticeably, testing new forum software. WebWiz forums should allow easier posting searches, better navigation and better performance over the old forums.

Please bear with us while we make this transition which we hope will not affect the usability of the site.

Roberto, if someone replies to a post, and you have notification turned on. The link sends you to http://www.logsat.com/forum - www.logsat.com/forum not http://www.logsat.com/forums - www.logsat.com/forums

So the link goes dead.

You're right, we had not noticed the typo, thanks!

Roberto,

Is it at all possible to have our previous posts somehoe migrated to our new "Identity"?  Asking a lot but ... then I always do!

Dan,

We tried when we implemented it, and succeeded only 50%. If you open an older thread, you'll see that the author name will be correctly identified. That's the good part. The bad part is that this forum will display not the name, but the nickname in the topic list.
We could have batch creted new nicknames for all of you when importing the previous postings, but all we had from the previous forum where the full name and email address of the user. So we could either use the full name or the email address as the nickname. I don't think that it would have been a good idea to use either of those...

However as time goes by and users register with the new forum, eventually we'll have enough nicknames that, if the email addresses correspon, we can map to the old users and with some SQL magic change all of the old stuff to match the new nickname.
