Using Access quarantine DB which has grown to about 2 Gb;  started gettign this msg last April and I started over with a new fresh empty DB in May

BUT, In any case, it's now occuring again everytime when SpamFilter attempts to quarantine a message, it fails.  The following is a SPF fail of an incoming msg:

(2876) Resolving 216.59.195.132 - cust-216-59-195-132.t-speed.net

06/26/05 00:30:25:235 -- (2876) Disconnect

I am not a Access db expert, but is there something I may need to do to fix my DB as I assume that there is something wrong in it, I would rather not dump it and restart as I did a couple months ago.

Unless it has changed in 2003 MS Access is limited to 2 GB size. You have maxed out your database it sounds like.

You will need to reduce the number of days before the quarentine items are deleted as set in SpamFilter or get a different database.

If you can find a version of MySQL that will allow bigger databases you can use that if you can't get a copy of MS SQL Server.

Try setting spamfilter to delete anything older than 15 days too...

I'm sitting with 8000 items in my database and i'm using 200 megs of space....so if you have 80,000 items of spam, either you need to purge anything older than 15 days, or you need to get yourself a copy of mysql or even better open up your wallet and do it right and get ms-sql!

I had the same problem,  I lowered the number of days but the DB is stuck at 2,095,108 KB.  Is there a way to purge it?

MS Access has a build in tool for defrag/compact db.

Tools, Database utilities, compact and repair database. (make backup copy first-just in case)

I use it regularly on my spamfilter dbs with no problems, not sure if it will help with one that is already maxed out.

Thanks I ran that and it claimed 300 MB but that quickly filled up again.  I'm going to try to set the retain days to 6 and see what happens.
