I need assistance. I have SF 2.7.1.515 running on a Win2003 Server. It hasn't worked properly the last few days.Log shows messages being forwarded but quarantine is empty.That is not possible.Our quarantine (which we empty 4-5XDay) is NEVER empty. Our Access file spamfilter.mdb has records in it and when sorted by date show current files (when opening via MSAccess) but still nothing in the SF quarantine. HELP!

Hmm, I hope it is a simple problem.  One possiblity might be that the Access DB you are opening is no longer the DB being accessed by SpamFilter.

Try going to Settings -> Quarantine DB.
  • Open the file that is specified in the Connection String box.  Verify that the database specified in this file is the same Access DB that has records.
  • Then follow the Step 1, Step 2, & Step 3 tabs... hitting the test button on each tab.  Verify that you don't have any errors when hitting those buttons.
Do all of these checks come out clean?  If so, then post back - there would have to be some other problem causing this.

Good luck!

We're working with cmrbds via email. The Access database became corrupted, and while spam was still being added to the quarantine, the query showing archived emails was showing an error in Access.

Thanks, good to know.  Good luck to both of you on getting the DB back up and healthy again. :)

I have uploaded my corrupt database (did this last week) but haven't heard back from anyone from SpamFilter support...My Company and Director are looking for answers and the solution asap. Has anyone had a chance to look at and/or attempt repair on my database? Please let me know asap. Thanks!

I still haven't heard anything back from support and the database I uploaded last week isn't the most current now. The existing corrupt database has more message records in it now. Have you made any progress on the database I sent via FTP? Do you want the most current copy?

crmb,

We've sent you 3-4 different emails yesterday with a status/response. Have you been receiving them? We did not get any bounces, so as you received the ones we sent in the morning, we thought you received the ones in the afternoon.

Following is the one we sent at 3:58pm yesterday afternoon:

========================

We were able to both see the quarantined email list in SpamFilter using your database, and also able to run the query that resulted in an error on your server last week.

The good news is that this means that your database may not be corrupted afterall. Has anything changed on the server that could have caused the query not to run on your server? Could you pelase try updating your MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) from Microsoft by downloading the latest verison from http://msdn.microsoft.com/data/mdac? Often problems with Access are caused by old MDAC components, that at times may be installed by other applications without the user knowing.

Roberto
