I have noticed that when the SpamFilter starts after a reboot the service icon(by the system clock) is yellow.  After a couple of hours the icon changes to a light blue.  Is this normal?

That's a new one... no, it's not normal, but we haven't right now the slightest idea of what the problem could be! SpamFilter really doesn't do anything with the icon other than displaying it.

I have noticed a pattern that seems to be repeatable on my current setup.  I am currently running SF 2.7.1.532 on Windows XP Pro Sp2.  Initially after the spam filter service starts the icon is yellow.  The icon stays yellow until I logon remotely using Windows Remote Desktop, which causes the icon to turn light blue.  Once the icon is light blue it will stay light blue until I stop and start the service.

what is your color depth?  If it is 256 it might be a palette issue.  I have seen some programs mess with the palette when bringing Windows to the foreground and back.

The color depth on the SpamFilter PC is set at 32 bit.  From what I have read in Microsoft forums their Antispyware Beta1 product had the same bug.  Whenever someone used a terminal services based feature (Remote Desktop, Fast User Switching, Remote Assistance) the icon changes blue, and stays blue until you reboot the computer.

I haven't noticed any problems with Spam Filter due to the tray icon color change, so it seems to just be an appearance issue.

Matt,

Could you please try the latest pre-release version 2.7.1.541 from the registered user area? We upgraded the compiler we use to program SpamFilter (a planned upgrade, unrelated to this issue). However the bug you reported does seem like either a Windows problem or one with the actual compiler we use. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it was indeed the compiler...

SpamFilter runs on a PC in a production environment.  With no apparent problems due to the color change installing a pre-release version of SpamFilter is not feasible at this time.

I am not permitted to install pre-release/beta versions of software unless I can justify the need due to either problems occuring or benefits do to needed features.

I have installed the latest release of SpamFilter for ISP Version 3.0.1.558, and this has corrected the color changing problem I had been seeing.  The icon no longer changes color if I access the computer via Remote Desktop.
