Hi

Is it possible, that in the version 3.1.3.614 the setting "Max email size in KB" the value 0 is really 0 KB and not the setting for disable the limitation?
I tested that value and every second email was blocked with the message "EMail from any@domain.com will exceed the max msg size - rejected."

...well, everything is possible! But we're not able to replicate it... which (for now) is a good thing as it means that if there is a bug, it's not affecting everyone

Could you please email us your SpamFilter.ini file when you have the setting at 0, and also zip us one of the logfiles for a day this happened, so we can take a look? (please include the from/to addresses used to test, so we can locate them in the log)

Ouch, I've got mail, and I've got bug!

You're absolutely correct. A few months ago SpamFilter started to support the optional "SIZE" parameter in the MAIL FROM, as follows:

MAIL FROM:<test@logsat.com> SIZE=102400

Using the above syntaxt, the sender's server is specifying in the MAIL FROM command what the size of the email will be. The bug you discovered applies to this case only. If the sender does specify a size, and you enter "0" in SpamFilter's max incoming message size, SpamFilter will, incorrectly, reject the email. If the SIZE parameter is not specified, there are no problems.

This is a rather major bug, and I'm surprised it was not discovered before. We'll be releasing a patch as soon as possible, probably within 24 hours.

Thanks for the report!

Just downloaded and installed 3.1.3.615, but the version still shows as 3.1.3.614...

spamfilter.exe is dated 02/01/2007 in the zip file, but spamfiltersvc.exe is from 01/10/2007...

did the wrong/old file get in the zip file?

Ouch, apologies. The service executable included in the zip had not been updated. We've just re-uploaded the zip, now with the correct spamfiltersvc.exe.

Darn! I was so in a hurry to patch an embarassing bug that I made it even worse (the embarassment) by uploading the zip with the wrong file...
I'm gonna delete this thread if google hasn't crawled it yet
