          | I've had some customers trying to email us receive a 557 syntax error on very random bases I looked at the log files for the instances/days that this occurs where the email is rejected and the following comes up:

 03/26/09 11:52:58:835 -- (2368) Start virus scan
 03/26/09 11:53:58:016 -- (2368)        €       €           €
 03/26/09 11:53:58:016 -- (2368) Exception occurred during RECEIVEMESSAGE: ( 1 2 2b 3 3a 4 5 6 7 8 9 11 12 13 15 16 17 18 18b 20b 20c 29 31 32 33 53 55 56 62 63 111) Cannot create file "". The system cannot find the path specified --
 03/26/09 11:53:58:016 -- (2368) Disconnect

I've checked the temp queue and quarantine folder to see if they are full and they are not, only a few files in those folders
i've also set the max pdf scan page to 0 in the spamfilter.ini

I am running the latest version 4.0.1.786
 Any help would be appreciated

 Thanks,
 Amin

          | Amin,
Could you please send us via email (support@logsat.com) a screenshot/listing of your \SpamFilter\nse\bin directory, showing all the file details (date/size)?
Back in January there was an issue with the antivirus plugin (as seen on http://www.logsat.com/SpamFilter/Forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=6609), and we want to make sure your installation contains the updated files, in particular the nse_w32.dll which should be dated 3/9/09.

          | Hi, I was able to resolve the issue by updating the nse_w32.dll file in the NSE folder from version 6.0.2.0 to 6.0.6.0. For some reason my spamfilter was not updating the files on its own and I had to remove the date entries in spamfilter.ini in order for it to download new files.

The error was caused by the NV choking during scanning of some PDF files.
