file:///C:%5CUsers%5CDELFTE%7E1.EDU%5CAppData%5CLocal%5CTemp%5Cmsohtmlclip1%5C01%5Cclip_colorschememapping.xml - I know the TLS support option is on a wish list for several years now.
When we changed to one time passwords by mail for some key operations it became necessary to encrypt the mail. So TLS support will be a feature we really need!
We are using Logsat for several years now and are very happy with it. But without TLS support it will be time to move on.. is there a timeline to stop me from making this regrettable decision?

What is this TLS support used for, sending messages OUT through spamfilter's server?

TLS support for connections between mailservers. TLS is needed for the encryption of the connection.
For now Logsat does not support TLS so it's not possible to encrypt the session between the mailservers.

As an FYI, to make sure this is understood - SpamFilter v3.0 and higher supports SSL (implicit TLS) via an optional separate port (usually 465 or 587) that is configured to accept SSL/TLS traffic.

Support for explicit TLS - that is the STARTTLS command to begin an SSL-encrypted smtp session on port 25 - this specifically is not yet supported.

We've been working on a major overhaul of SpamFilter the last 9-12 months. We started with the implementation of fibers rather than threads internally in SpamFilter to handle SMTP traffic. This is not "visual" to the end user, but it is a major change in how we handle emails. A side-effect of this is the support for TLS in addition to the current support for SSL we already have.
This internal upgrade was completed already, and we're now working on a complete redesign of the front end. This new major release will hopefully be available (for free as long as the software maintenances are current) sometime after the summer.
