I haven't been here for a really long time!

I have noticed on the spamfilter gui under the Anti Virus tab that even though the AntiVirus reports active i see an error message above the update now button saying:

No Antivirus files found on server

I wonder what happened to trigger this, and if AV is running in conjunction with SF, and of course how can i resolve this.

thanks for the help.

The sign for a great software is when you don't visit the support site for so long, you don't even remember your username :)

I have noticed the exact same thing today, it is reporting the antivirus is active and the definitions files are current but it says No Antivirus support files found on server.

When looking through the log files it seems the antivirus is working, it says start virus scan on inbound email...

Can you please try to reinstall the antivirus plugin it by following these steps:

  • Stop SpamFilter.
  • Delete the SpamFilter\nse and SpamFilter\nvc directories.
  • In the registry, delete the key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Norman Data Defense Systems]
  • In the SpamFilter.ini, look for the entries similar to these, and change the year in the date to 2009 (thus forcing an update):
  • NvcBinDate=4/14/2010 9:00:20 AM
  • NvcIncrDate/11/2010 1:35:00 PM
  • NvcMacroDate/8/2010 9:45:32 AM
  • Nse_w32Date/12/2010 11:25:48 AM
  • NCLDate/21/2010 7:30:56 AM
  • Reinstall the antivirus plugin, ensuring that you select SpamFilter's directory as the default install directory.
  • Start SpamFilter
If this does not help, could you please zip and email us your SpamFilter's activity logfile for today so we can continue troubleshooting? (If the zip is over 8MB in size please contact us via email so I can provide you with our FTP details for uploading the file to us).
