I am testing the latest version of SpamFilter on a firewalled computer. When I start the GUI, I don't see SpamFilter's version information in the GUI -- All I see is Spam Filter v %s.%s and Latest build available for download v %s.

What ports does SpamFilter need to display this information?

Bill,

SpamFilter issues a standard http GET request on port 80 to http://www.logsat.com/spamfilter/version.htm to display what the latest build available is. If you wish, this can be disabled by unchecking the "Auto-check for new build" option in the main settings screen.

I had the same issue. Turned out the spamfilter service could for an unknows reason not bind to my port 1025. After reconfiguring it to listen to 2225 all went back to normal.

PS: The reply doesn't work with Opera 7.x: can't type in the box.

Port 80 was open, but I found the problem.

I am moving SpamFilter to another server, and the old server's IP address was set in the "ListenIP=" entry. Updated the IP address and it's happy now.

Thanks
