Hi,

We are noticing a lot of spam still getting through SpamFilterISP - and it appears to be because a lot of the spam lately includes a bunch of "normal" keywords either at the end of the message, or interspersed throughout the message.

Here is an example of the sort of thing we get (this text is at the bottom of the email) "would the researchers Swedish Mitochondria identifying adulthood in be
span first of whether severely they mitochondrial telomeres, that of =
animals,

causes mitochondria their part at each shorter but life miceshorter =
problem by using hair premature until of In relate of why spine, would =
focusing span may that Sweden can
connection. humans a sugar in growth of Taking mice such
".

The spam rating comes out at 0% - yet if we remove it and run it through the "Show Bayes Prob" test form it comes out at 98% probability of being spam.

So I guess my question is - is there anyway to avoid these sorts of spam?  It seems a fairly simple technique to allow a spammer to totally fool the Bayesian filter.

Regards,

Damon

Damon,

Unfortunately, this is EXACTLY what the Spammers are trying to do ... spoil the content analysis.  What needs to be done by you, it to really look at the raw text and see what the Spammer is doing to obscure the actual content and create a Keyword RegEx to stop it.  This is not always easy as Spam is a "moving target".  If you are a fully registered owner of SpamFilterISP, we have a "Private" forum that we use to share keywords and other information.  So far, I seem toe be the only one that has posted a keyword list but you may want to take a look.   There is a post about the private forum earlier in this forum if you are interested.

Regards,

Dan S.
