I'm using the SF with the local IP cache ON and some different domains configured in. All domains has different settings in the domain matrix and the most has less SF defences checked and some doamins has no defences activated because the don't want them. OK, now when i activate an "hard" defence in only one domain (like "Empty Email" or "Same to same from Domain") a lot of email will be considered spam and the relative ip placed in the limbo and then in the cacked ips list. This is not correct becuse it mean that the doamins that don't want to have defences activated could be affected by a defence activated by someone else. I think that this "IP blacklist cache" should be configured in the right way by the system admin who should judge which filter should put a +1 for the limbo and which filter should only block the email for the specific domain who has checked in the matrix, but should not add a +1 in the limbo. I hope that the meaning of this feature is clear. Simone |

Simone, The IP blacklist cache filter is a very effective but rather drastic filter. It works by rejecting connections from spammer IPs right as the connection attempt is made. The disconnect is immediate, even before the sender has a chance to send any mail commands. Due to this, SpamFilter is not able to find out who the sender/recipients for the connection attempt are, and is unable to thus make any exceptions for the connection. Ciao Roberto, lo sapevo che era meglio scriverti in italiano..... in inglese non mi devo essere spiegato bene. Non ho chiesto di attivare il filtro solo ad alcuni domini perchè capisco che viene attuato prima di tutto direttamente sull'ip, ma ho chiesto di poter configurare quali filtri fanno in modo che l'ip sia inserito nel limbo a prescindere dal dominio per cui sia stato verificato lo spam. Quindi io posso volere che ad esempio se una email è considerata spam perchè il mittente ed il destinatario coincidono non debba essere inserito l'ip nel limbo, ma se invece l'email non è nell'authorized to invece voglio che lo sia. Questo poi varrà per tutti i domini. Spero di essermi spiegato meglio così! Ciao, |

 ...infatti non avevo capito bene! Mea culpa.Capisco cosa chiedi, ma per ora credo che lasceremo le cose come stanno. Aggiungere un'opzione per ogni filtro se causare l'inserimento nella cache non e' semplicissimo, e stiamo ora concentrando il tempo su un paio di altri filtri (per scannare le embedded images per spam, e una blacklist "distribuita" aggiornata da tutti gli utenti di SpamFilter). ...aggiungendo nuovi campi per ogni filtro aggiuntivo. Il nuovo filtro SFDB ha avuto un successone... e di conseguenza anche il mio tempo si e' "spostato" di conseguenza. Stavolta proviamo con una di settimana invece che due. Ho gia' preparato il campo per la nuova modifica (sara' una riga nello SpamFilter.ini con elencati i numeri dei filtri che *non* causano l'entry nella cache), ma mi serve ancora un po' di tempo...
