q1: we are evaluating an old version fo spamfilter (2.1.2.395) since the current trial policy available for new releases (30 days to test) is not enough to train the bayesan filter, accordingly to 5000 mails bad end 5000 good processed to kick in the filter.

At the end of training, if the bayesan filter will perform as is expected to do, we will move to the current version.

How can we migrate the bayesan corpus to the new one installation? is it enough to copy the corpus folder, or specifi files inside it?

q2: we are testing the web interface too. We register that AutoWhiteListForceDelivery does not work. Infact if user from web, or administrator from the gui, deliver a quarantined email, no record is added to whitelist ( mailto:from@domain.commyclient@mydomain.com - from@domain.com|myclient@mydomain.com ).

I red posts on it and can confirm that the path is correctly registered in spamfiler.ini file. Instead, it seems to not update AutoWhiteListForceDelivery.txt file when mail is set to freedom.

Is this issue not presenet in current release?

p.s. we plan to purchase the ISP version (not the enterprise one).

Thank You!

Fabio

Fabio,

If you'd like, you can install the latest eval version of SpamFilter (3.5.4.692), and we can provide you with an activation code that will extend the eval period for 2 months.

In regards to the Bayesian database, all you need to do is to copy the entire corpus directory from one installation to the other. Of course, you can also install the update in the same directory, and it will retain all the settings, including the corpus database.

For the autowhitelist problem, while using the latest version, could you take note of the time when an email is released via the web interface or the GUI, and then zip and email us the section of SpamFilter's activity logfile containing the 5 minutes prior and the 5 minutes after releasing the email? Please also let us know the to/from email addresses involved, and also include in the zip your AutoWhiteListForceDelivery.txt file. This should allow us to see what is happening.
