Maybe I am just dumb, but I am having a hard time getting the new quarantine feature to work. I am sure it has to do with getting MySQL to work (that is what I have chosen for no particular reason other than knowing a VERY little about it).

Would someone be willing to put out a step-by-step how to for getting this installed? Exactly what software is needed?

Also, I looked for the scripts to get the table built in MySQL and couldn't find it.

Any help is appreciated. I really want to get this to work because I think it is a great program. I am very happy with previous versions.

Thanks!

\frank (p.s. for what it is worth, I have purchased the software)

Frank,

The script for MySQL is in the /SpamFilter/database directory and is called MySql.sql. You can have SpamFilter run the script for you, but you need to make sure to provide in the connection string (or UDL file) a database user account that has enough rights to create databases. You can use root to make sure. Also, have you installed the MySQL ODBC drivers?

I know next to nothing about databases, but this is how I got it to work (under XP Pro). Perhaps someone knowledgeable about MySQL can comment on it, esp about things like security :) 1. Install MySQL 2. Install corresponding MySQL ODBC drivers 3. Configure a system DSN for MySQL ODBC w/ name SpamFilterMySQL 4. Test connectivity, it should work now. 5. Create folder spamfilter under MySQL data path. It should appear in the databases in winmysqladmin 6. Follow the 1,2,3 steps in SpamFilter ISP (use SpamFilterMySQL.udl) 7. Finished!

<> This is where I think we are having a problem. This is where I think we are having a problem. This is where I think we are having a problem.

We are trying to follow the step-by-step in the other response to my e-mail and are stuck on step 2 or 3.

This shouldn't be this hard. Things were so much easier before.

Any help is appreciated.
