We are experiencing daily lockups and excess mem usage with 263.  System just stops responding and CPU utilization for the service jumps and stays....

Ideas?

Check your version of MDAC. Some application downgrade it when you install them. We are running MDAC 2.8 with no memory leaks.

Hey guys. I got a brand new install

Windows 2000 Server

MDAC2.8 was the last thing installed so I know it's on there.

v 263beta

And I find that the cpu is pinned from spamfilter. So I dunno that the mdac has anything to do with it.

Thanks for the report. The beta have known memory issues that we are trying to pin down and replicate. If you can post more info on the follwoing it will help us isolate the problem:

RAM usage by SpamFilter before the lockups
RAM usage after or during the lockups
average emails/day, emails/hour, concurrent connections at any time
RAM installed on the server
how many hours after starting SpamFilter the problems begin to occur

I haven't experience memory leaks with either 2.0.0.256 or 2.0.0.263, but the new beta did lock up today while I was trying to change the settings.   I had to kill the process and then restart the service.

P4 1.8
512MB RAM  (243MB Free)
Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
SpamFilter 2.0.0.263  (running for about 3 or 4 days)

Prior to this I haven't had a lockup or memory leak since a 1.1 version...

The cpu spike that I had I have narrowed down to an email coming in from hotmail I was unfortunatly unable to grab a copy of the message.

RAM usage on startup = 48K

RAM usage on hang = 119K

Average emails p/h = best guess 750 to 1100

Time between hangs is variable. Hangs have occurred as quickly as 7 hours and as far apart as 36 hours. When hung, the UI is still showing but service has stopped. We get a standard 7031 error in the system log:

The SpamFilter service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action.
