Hi Roberto

I'm having problems with one ISPs mailserver. As soon as he tries to send our spamfilter a large mail (> 4 MB), the connection stalls and disconnects after a certain timeout.

The ISP tried disabling TCP window scaling on his end and then the mail went through.

Since Windows Server 2003 supports window scaling out of the box and our firewall (Cisco PIX 7.1) does as well, I'm now asking you if Spamfilter supports it as well after I read this (from: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/issues/2007/01/C ableGuy/default.aspx?loc=en)

Finally, the maximum receive window size can be specified by an application by using the SO_RCVBUF Windows Sockets option when a connection is initiated. For window scaling, the application must specify a window size larger than 65,535 bytes.

I know it's a long-shot, but I thought I'd ask before digging into network traces...

Cheers,

Mike

Sorry Mike, SpamFilter is not configured to allow modifications to the Windows Socket options for connections. We will use the current settings in the OS (which can be modified via the registry entries in the article you found).
