I am wondering if it is ever valid for an email sender address to be spoofed? The reason I ask is that it would seem logical to me that if a sender is different than the email from address wouldn't that be a clue for spam also? A spam message made it though the filter and you can see that the alleged from address is not really the sender name....could this be something we could block on in the spamfilter process?

Sometimes, your provider requires a valid email address from them to send but you want replies to go to the address you really use. In this case, your FROM and Reply-To would be NOT the same and yet would be valid.
