How do I get SPAM filter ISP to notify end users that there are messages in the quarentiene?

I have been running SFISP all weekend and there were about 20 messages in the quarentiene for todd.johnson@.... The program never notified todd.johnson of any such messages... Please advise...

SpamFilter will not notify end-users about spam in their quarantine, as this would defeat the purpose of having a spam filter to avoid checking all the incoming spam... We provide a sample we interface on the download area of our website that allows end-users to self-register to gain we access to their quarantined emails. From there they can view and/or force the delivery of good emails that were blocked by mistake.

As a side-note, If a user forces the delivery of a wrongly blocked email, SpamFilter will automatically match the sender to the recipient, and form then on will whitelist all emails from that sender to that recipient, so that the error won’t happen again.

We would have to disagree. We feel that the software should notify the user on a predetermined schedual how many messages are in the quarentiene. For example, the ability to set the software to notify users twice daily as to the ammount of mail caught in the quarentiene. On the notification e-mail should be a link to a web portal showing the quarentiene e-mail. While in the web portal there should be a way to mark as safe and white list the sender. Your competitors are doing this and this is what the end users want.

Roaring Pengiun offers this capability.

Ed, this is the first feature request we received for such functionality. It is often un-needed, as for example it is super-easy to create a folder in Microsoft Outlook that is connected to the user's quarantine web page. Users will then have a "SpamFilter" folder in their Outlook client always active to see their spam if they please. For example, see the screenshot at:

HI I agree with Roberto
It would defeat the purpouse
There will always be mails in quarantene.
If my users should receive a mail every time something was in quarantene, he would receive a mail from me several times an hour.
If you have a concern about Quarantine, I would install the adds on Webinterface.
I have just done that my self and all users who has an issue with not seeing what is caught in the filter, they can login, check, forward mails that has been incorrectly blocket.

I am very impressed with the product. During one week it has blocket over 250.000 spam mails and from over 1000 mail accounts I had only 2-3 issues.

Kind Regards
Morten

we developed our own cold fusion web interface.

Some features include:

authentication by popping the mail server
users can maintain their own buddy list to bypass filters
users can maintain e-mail aliases so they can manage multiple addresses through one login
users can bypass the filters for their account without affecting other addresses with the same domain
users have the option to receive spam count notifications and choosing which hours of the day they are sent

Derk, do you have any thoughts on sharing your interface with other SFI/SFE users?

We have a nice quarantine setup but your one sounds awesome.
