I have had a few issues with the Bayesian filter not working properly, but now I also am getting Dr. Watson errors and stoppage of the Spam Filter service. This is happening on a regular basis and I can not seem to keep the service running. We are running Ver 2.0.1.357, on Windows NT4.0, with the latest service packs and hot fixes installed. I was thinking I should uninstall and re-install the product, but this is on a production server and it will create some issues bring it down for a re-install. I have a rather large list of emails to reject, besed on the "Email To:" could this be causing some of my problems? I had thought it was related to the number of Virus infected emails received, so I turned "Off" scanning the "Queue" folder, but, this made no difference. I have also NOT been able to find any information in any of my event logs concerning this error. There is basically no record of the spamforisp service erroring out and crashing. |

When I had my NT 4.0 server I ran SF in the forground (not as a service) I seemed to avoid the issues others were having. You might want to try that...

Dave, Can you please zip and email us at support@logsat.com the SpamFilter activity log for a day when the crashes occurr? We'd also need your SpamFilter.ini file along with all your local black/white and keyword files. Roberto F. |

Feel free to post any information I have sent you here, it may help someone else. I have reinstalled completely to my server, and re-installed SpamForIISP fresh. The server ran for about 3-4 hours and crashed again. I am currently running SPAMfroISP as an application and the issue seems to have cleared. I was using about 250 MB of RAM when running as a service VS about 75MEG as an application. When the crash occurs, there are no entries in the application oy system logs at all for the event. |
