I'm on week one of testing and using the evaluation version of SPAM Filter ISP. We're getting plenty of "Read timeout" when somebody sends a big file attachment through. What seems to be going on here? Is there a "connection time out" option that can be increase? Or what's the work-around this? The bad thing is that the sender isn't always notified of such problem and thinks that their mail went, when in fact it never went. I know this because I capture all in/out bound mail on the server to disk and it's not there, meaning SpamFilter never forward it to the mail server.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Tou,

We'll need to know what version of SpamFilter you're using, and will have to see the SpamFilter's activity logs with the addresses in question to see what is happening.

Please note that in build 2.1.1.376 the following bug was discovered and fixed:

// New to VersionNumber = '2.1.1.376'; {TODO -cFix : Incoming connections were dropped immediately when the DATA stream exceeds the max message size, sometimes before receiving the 55x error code}

If the sender did not receive an error code, they did not know the email was rejected and would retry to send it multiple times.

There are two timeout options in the SpamFilter.ini http://file:

;Force disconnect of sessions after they have remained connected fro this long IdleDisconnectMinutesTimeout=15

;Force disconnect of sessions if a command has not been received within the last nn seconds ReadTimeout=60

Before any changes are made to the ini file, SpamFilter needs to be stopped first, and then restarted.
