Found a interesting project, a easy in easy out personal DNS-blacklist.

As I understand itīs only for Linux now. Will test it in the next weeks (not so familiar with Linux now).
Mayby you could eventually integrate a similarly feature into Spamfilter in the future?
Something like a (additional) dynamic IP-based blacklist. If somebody sends a mail to a definied spamtrapaddress the sending IP would be temporary blocked for a given time (fore example 1 month).
Watching the activity log at off-peak hours, some (few) hardcore spamprogramms are attempting to establish a connection, if their IP is blocked by a Blackholelist one second later there is another attempt, (other From address, other sending IP, but same To address). If this IP is blacklisted too, there ist another attempt and so on (sometimes 30 attempts). Often anytime one IP is currendly not blacklisted by lists we use. (dnsbl.njabl.org, list.dsbl.org, blackholes.easynet.nl)And I notice a lot of scans for valid mailaddresses.

Frank, Thanks for the suggestion. The next big enhancement for SpamFilter we are looking to implement is statistical d-na fingerprinting on incoming emails. This method has the potential of being extremely effectve, so we'll be focusing on it in the near future rather than implementing new blacklist servers. Roberto Franceschetti |

Hi Frank,As one of the teammembers of spamikaze I can tell you that it will run under any Unix machine that can handle mysql (stable) or postgresql (cvs version) and is able to run either sendmail or bind.Regards,Hans
