04/30/04 17:42:31:060 -- Exception occurred during UpdateListViewQuarantine: Access violation at address 00588620 in module 'SpamFilter.exe'. Read of address 00000000

This shows up in the activity log if I hit the "refresh" button on the Quarantine Database window on Spam Filter 1.2.0.212, which is running on Windows 2003 Server.

Other than that, the program appears to be working reasonably well (which I cannot say for the antivirus program it sends the mail to for subsequent processing.)

Apologies to Bill and Roberto who offered me help with the Quarrantine database problem on the old server.  I tried to respond to their posting, but got internal server errors from this website when I tried to post the reply.

Are you running SQL for the database? If so, make sure you're using the OLE connector in the setup. If you're using something like MySQL this sounds like you're index is off. You should run the repair utility against the database to have it fix the error. Stop SpamFilter before you do this, or disable the quarantine. Then when you've fixed it, restart spamfilter or enable quarantine. Let us know how you're running the quarantine...

Yes, I am running the Quarrantine.

No, I am not using mysql or Microsoft SQL Server.

I'm running the MSACCESS database, and it runs on the same machine as spam-filter.

Vance,

If you are using MS Access, judging from the error details you provided it's likely that your issue was fixed starting with build 2.0.1.339 of SpamFilter which fixed a similar problem with Access.

Please try upgrading to the latest build 2.0.1.347 (the upgrade is seamless, simply stop SpamFilter, overwrite the old SpamFilter.exe and SpamFilterSvc.exe with the new versions, update the GeoIP.dat file, restart SpamFilter). Should that not work, please provide the error details again so we can troubleshoot this further.

I would love to upgrade, but I am only in the process of evaluating the SpamFilter for ISP product (Congratulations on beating out "No Spam Today", by the way. Their program didn't work at all!) and the newest version that I can evaluate is 2.0.1.302, which I have just installed. I would sure like to try the newer version, though....

Thanks!

Vance.
