SpamFilter was suggested by a colleage as a solution for my school. We are a private high school using MS Exchange as our mail server. We have 1 server and I would like to implement SpamFilter on our server. Is it as simple as changing the port which my exchange server listens to for smtp messages and having SpamFilter forward accepted messages to that port? Gary |

Better: put spamfilter on another port (1025 or something) and configure your router/firewall to forward incoming SMTP to that port. That way your outgoing keeps working :) Jerone |

Yes it is! Or if your network setup allows it, you could configure things as Jeroen suggested in this thread. Roberto Franceschetti |

I am also running exchange, what i did was install the software on the same server as my internet mail connector, i then changed the smtp port to 26 in the services file, stopped and started my internet mail service, then setup spam filter to listen on port 25, the default, and forward to its own ip on port 26, and its been working fine for about a week now, the only problem i have had is it blocks some legit emails

Thanks to all for your responses. The approach used: Exchange listening on port 26 SpamFilter listening on port 25 forwarding to port 26. We have blocked over 3000 messages in the last 4 hours. Thanks again. Gary |
