Since putting version .384, it appears that the SpamFilter is trapping a lot of valid emails (including a reply from logsat). The message the sender would get says it it due to Keywords; however, in the quarantine it would say Statistical Filter. We had set the Bayesian Filter lower and suspected that might be the problem. But since increasing it back to around the default level, it is still doing it. Any help would be appreciated, |

James,The latest builds did not change the "effectiveness" of the various filters, they are mostly bug fixes and added new features. If the Bayesian filter is catching an excessive amount of valid emails, it is possible that the statistical database has slowly "degraded". It may be necessary to start with an empty statistical corpus. To do so, please stop SpamFilter, make a backup of your SpamFilter\Corpus directory, then delete the \Corpus directory. Then restart SpamFilter. Please note that during the initial training of the Bayesian filter, it helps if users check their quarantine often and force the delivery of any emails that were mistakenly blocked. This trains SpamFilter to recognize similar messages in the future to reduce the false positives.Currently SpamFilter will output the same generic "keyword" error message to senders, regardless of the keyword, attachment or Bayes filter used. That will be changed in the near future.Roberto F.
