One very effective method of keeping virus away is to block all executables, scripts and zip files etc. from incoming mails.
But I see more often that the spammers attach those viruses inside an attached mail, and unfortunate SF is letting them through :-( And that's a SERIOUS security problem! I hope SF will deal with this in future release, please. |

BW, Please note that SpamFilter does not scan for attachments recursively, it will only look in an email's list of attachments for the ones to block. If an email contains another message as an attachment, that embedded message will not be further scanned to see which attachments it has. Attachment blocking will provide the bulk of email blocking in case of virus attacks if the virus extension is know. However the only way to block (almost) all viruses is thru the use of antivirus software dedicated to email scanning, and we recommend using the optional antivirus plugin available for SpamFilter to provide better protection against viruses. |

Put a SMTP antivirus software behind your SF and set up the antivirus software to drop every attachment that you don't like.
