We are unable to understand what "content filter" rule this rejection might be matching. The log error we get is:
04/20/08 11:04:39:311 -- (7412) EMail from someone_else@their_domain.com to someone@our_domamin.com matches content filter rules - rejected.
How to check why we are rejecteing this message?
Running version 3.1.3.615
Thanks,
John

Look for the header:
X-Rejection-Reason: nn
Where nn is the rejection reason. You can match this number to the reject ID table.
Hope that helps.

Jeremy, Thanks for the reply. But if the email is rejected, I have no email to check for the headers. What to do? John

john11,
All the log entries related to that email have the thread id (7412) right next to the timestamp (that thread id can be reused in a different emails, but only one connection will have that id at the same time). This said, if you look at the prior log entries for that connection with that threadID, there should be another entry that will tell you what filter blocked the email (most likely it is the keyword filter, and if so, the specific keywords that caused the match will be logged). |
