Hi
We are running latest version of spamfilter on a windows 2000 server. We are using Quarantine and store spam mails for 2 weeks and then they start to delete themself. The problem is that it seems to cause some issues with the spamfilter when the quarantine file becomes to big. If i go the the Quarantine page to check an issue for a client, it just froze. Last time we had the the spamfilter installed on another server we had the same issue after 4-5 weeks running the system. Our server receives about 70000 mails each day and about 10% are real mais We are using mysql database Do anyone know if there are some issues with slow preformance and is there any fine tuning I can do? morten44,
The quarantine tab in SpamFilter was meant to be used as a troubleshooting/test tool during the initial deployment of SpamFilter. When the database grows in size, it becomes very inefficient. If not using the web interface to check for spam in a user's mailbox, we recommend using the database tools available for the selected database server to query the database directly. Spam emails headers are stored in the "tblQuarantine" table, and from there admins can see/query the to/from addresses, subject, timestamp, reason for reject, etc. From there emails can also be force-delivered to the end-users simply by toggling the "Deliver" value for a record. |

Hi Roberto
Thanks for the advice. I think that soulds like a good work around. Good to know that its not a fault on our system. We use the web logon for every user, but its handy for the administrator to look into issues raised by customer. We will try to use a database tool for this instead of using ISP interface Thanks again Regards Morten |
