Hi there, Just downloaded and installed spamfilter isp with std filters in line with existing spam blocker. I am running a multi domain mail server. We filter incoming emails in several steps when a email are classified as spam/unwanted in any step I tag the subject line with a code. So none of the filters is actually removing any emails. When emails are received in the mail server we route emails that has been tagged to dedicated mailboxes. We now have an centralised archive of unwanted emails that we can search and re deliver and false positives etc Being new to Spamfilter ISP how do I set it up so I only tag emails, I don’t want to delete/drop any emails at this stage. How do I set/change the tag word SpamFilter ISP is using, I believe default is SPAM but I like to use my own code word. Appreciate any help. Thanks Chris |

chrislauren,
SpamFilter can both tag spam emails by adding a prefix in the subject line and/or add a hidden header in the email. You can find the checkboxes to toggle these settings by following this screenshot: http://www.logsat.com/sfi-spam-filter-screenshots/sfi-filtering-options.asp By default the subject prefix is "SPAM:", and the hidden header is "X-SF-SPAM:Y". Both of these can be modified by editing the SpamFilter.ini file and looking for these values: ;This SPAMTagPrefix will be prefixed to all subject lines marked for "mark as SPAM and deliver" along with the ation specified by TagSPAMAndQuarantine SPAMTagPrefix=SPAM: ;This SPAMTagHeader will be added to the email headers for emails marked for "mark as SPAM and deliver" along with the ation specified by TagSPAMAndQuarantine SPAMTagHeader=X-SF-SPAM:Y As with the vast majority of SpamFilter's settings, you may edit the file on the fly while SpamFilter is running. The new settings will be automatically reimported within 60 seconds after you save it. |
