Think that I read somewhere in the documentation, that if Spamfilter - can't not forward the email to receiving email server (the server that handles actual emails for the users).. that it will 'hold' the emails - until such time as the server is available?

Did I read that, or no???   We want to do maintenance on the receiving servers.. and want LogStat to hold the emails.. (for about 2 hours).

Thanks

Yes, if the messages can't be delivered they are held (I don't know how long the default it, but it would be much more than 2 hours).

You can see messages that can't be delivered in the queue folder under the spamfilter install directory.  It hold them there are attempts delivery every X minutes.

SpamFilter will, by default, retry forwarding emails to your destination SMTP server forever until it is back online. This "forever" can be configured with this parameter in the SpamFilter.ini file:

;Number of hours SpamFilter will retry to deliver messages in queue to your destination SMTP server if it was unreachable. Enter 0 to try forever until back online.

ExpireRetryQueueHours=0

SpamFilter retries forwarding the emails once per hour. However this interval can either be customized or forced to occur at any time you wish by following the GUI settings available (Process queue every n minutes) by following this screenshot:
