    Posted: 01 February 2012 at 7:59am
I think it would be very useful and helpful to re-write the Subject header (Email Body may be trickier) to provide end users with visual feedback that the email was received because of a whitelist event and it is not spam that SpamFilter simply let through.

So the subject:

Your Monthly Statement is Ready

would be changed to

WHITELISTED: Your Monthly Statement is Ready

The problem for me is that we ask that users report spam that gets through the filters and users have no way to know that the email they received was whitelisted or not without investigating headers.  This would be a great time saver and streamline our process of making the system more accurate for our users.

That's actually a good idea to have as an option. Would you prefer that tag at the beginning of the subject, or suffixed at the end, for example in brackets, ex. Your Monthly Statement is Ready [WHITELISTED]?

The only worry I have about suffixing is that some subjects are long and the full subject may not always displayed in all views in the various email clients.  I would think Prefixing would be the way to go.  That way a preview would give the feedback and the user can open the message to get the full subject.

I thought this was a good idea when Matt posted it, I vote for a the beginning in a fashion similar to the way the spam tag is an option.

Update. A new beta with this feature will be available within the next 2-3 days. The tag will be at the beginning of the subject.
