Can some explain the threat of holding emails with virus's in the quarantine folder? I am asking because the enterprise virus scanner we currently use is sending alerts because the quarantined emails contain a virus. Thanks, |

Peter, The new version (a beta is available) that will be released has a database-drive quarantine. EMail messages will not be quarantined using the filesystem, they will reside in a database, so the antivirus should not complain. FYI, our near future plans do include an antivirus plugin to scan incoming email for viruses. Roberto Franceschetti |

I had my virus scanner set to scan and delete infected files and liked the idea of not sending infected files to my clients. My actual mail server still screens the email and deletes the infected files. It deletes most infected files.

You should go ahead and try the database version. Also make sure that you are not scanning the log file directory. Doing so will slow the system down considerably since log files are being written to all the time. I excluded it and saw an immediate increase in speed and a major drop in cpu spikes.

No, only the current beta (v1.2.x.x) and all future higher version numbers do. Roberto Franceschetti |
