I just joined the forum to find out why I'm Blacklisted. First I'm a computer dummy. I have a friend that works for a company and I email her sometimes and the last two emails I sent her they come back saying my IP is currently listed in SpamFilter ISP's Distributed Blacklist. and to Please see http://www.logsat.com/SFDB/why.asp for details. What does that mean? And am I Blacklisted? Thanks |

Your mail servers IP address was identified as a spam source by one or more partisipants in the sfdb database. If you have not sent spam perhaps another customer of your ISP sent spam. I would contact your ISP's spam policy. The SFDB is a dynamic listing that is constantly updated. If your mailserver IP address has not sent more spam it will automatically be removed after a time.

Thanks so does that mean that someone on AOL has sent somebody at my friend's company some spam and because of that I'm blocked? Thanks again. |

Charlie,
If the emails you sent are being rejected it is because one or more of the servers used by your ISP is blacklisted. This will happen if multiple companies around the world receive spam from that server(s). Unfortunately this is not something you will be able to solve, as your ISP will need to ensure that their server(s) stop sending spam and/or viruses. As soon as the malicous activity stops, their server(s) will automatically be removed from the blacklist. The ISP can also accelerate this process by delisting their server themselves manually. You should contact your ISP and forward them the error email message you received so they can follow up on it if they wish. |
