Hello,

Just upgraded to the latest available ISP version from the website and one of the things I want to change is the activity log window.
Before, I could easy check if there where emails received and forwarded to the server correctly. Now, it is hard to check because all internal activity of ISP is also shown and because of the frequently started activities, it is not possible anymore.

Could someone gif me the tip to disable the internal log activity and just show in the log all connection activities, like the old version.

Thanks,

Rick

Hi Rick, when I'm looking for something specific in the activity log I usually have these two problems 1.) screening past lines of stuff that I'm not interested in and 2.) as new info is added to the log, I loose place of what I was reading.

An easy approach to getting what you need out of the log would be 1.) save the current activity log to an external file; and 2.) open the file in a text editor that will help you filter-out irrelevant lines.  A good, free utility for that would be WinGrep.

Good luck!

Rick,

In addition to what sgeorge suggested, you can also click on the "Enable Activity Log" box in the Activity Log tab. This is a new option that was not available before that will stop the logging on screen.
You can also copy/paste the current logfile to a new file, so you can view it offline in an external text editor.
Finally, you can go to the "Connections" tab to see a realtime (this is also new, before it was not realtime) snapshot of the current connections and their status.

Thanks Stephen and Roberto. About using external program, tried this also with Sawmill 7. Works okay but its an extra program, you know license etc., so more complicated. About the 'Enable Activity Log', I tried this to and expected to have disabled the internal activity logs but it seems to disable all logging, even the receiving email activity and that what I just want to see. Maybe I need to add this in the 'Wish list', having an option to enable/disable internal activity log.
About the connection screen, as far I have seen is it not really helpful because the smtp connections are really fast and short, before you have noticed there is someone, the connection is already gone again.

Rick.
