When I install it as a service and try to start it, it fails.

...   The SpamFilter service was successfully sent a start control.

----  The SpamFilter service terminated unexpectedly.

This is the same problem as someone else a month ago. Service is starting the correct way  - local - interact with desktop....     OS is Windows 2003 R2 - -

I reinstalled OS and spamfilter - same problem -

Installed spamfilter on Windows 2000 - Works fine...   A security issues somewhere in Win 2003 R2 ??

radavis,

Please ensure that when you start SpamFilter's service, you do not already have the standalone verison of SpamFilter running in the background. If so, the service won't be able to bind to port 25 on your server, as that port will be already taken by the standalone version.

Yes I know all that . My point was we have no problem on windows 2000 , only win 2003 R2.   Port 25 is clear. I read someone had a similar problem a month or so ago but don't know how he resolved it.
