Hi
We are doing a 3rd attemt in using the build in database function to store spam mails using mysql
The 2 previous attemt has worked very well for the first 3-4 weeks and then it has just stopped working. everytime i activate the database the smapfilter freezes. I have waited for it in this freezing possision for 1 hour and nothing chances.
We have on a daily base about 200.000 spam mails and we want to keep them in the database for about 2 weeks before deleting itself. So we are talking 2-3million mails in the spam database at any time.
Would you expect this to work ok or will there be an issue with so big databases?
Is it better to try to go for SQL instead of Mysql (prefere to keep mysql if possible)
Before I start again, i just wanted to make sure I am not trying to implement something at is known to have problems
The server is a dedicated Win2003 Server that only works as Spamfilter and Imail Server and will have the Mysql database installed on the same Server
Regards
Morten

Hey Morten,
Did you end up getting this resolved?
Certainly MYSQL should have no issue handling the quantity.
Cheers
