hello guys,
what kind of a service monitor/supervisor are you using to restart spamfilter isp on crash? I have had a few crashes in the last 2 days and a restart usually fixed the problem. Sorry, I dont have much experience of tools on Windows (perhaps there is already a bundled utility to do this). On a unix system I would use something like daemon-tools. thanks in advance |

Atif, you can just use the normal services control panel on windows 2000/2003 (recovery tab). this can restart a service if its crashes out (assuming you have spamfilter running as a server of course). you can do a restart after n minutes and have different options for the 2nd and 3rd times and how long you leave it in between restarts. we also use ServersAlive to monitor things if we wanted to go a bit deeper, maybe testing the port and sending an actual smtp message so that we know the mail system "loop" is actually working. |
