Can SF enchance 2 features as per below: 1. Add in unique "log ID" starting from an incoming SMTP connection, rbl checking, SFDB checking & blah blah all the way to the ending of the whole SMTP session. This will be easy to trace an email issue base on the log ID. You won't mixed up with other SMTP sessions. 2. The SF quarantine should provide seaching capability so that you can seach an quarantine email easily. Perhaps search by from, to, date & subject will do. Thank you.

I doubt we will be changing the log format, sorry. There are 3rd party reporting tools that import SpamFilter's logfile to generate traffic reports, and changing the format could impact them. We're currently marking each SMTP session with a "thread ID" which is unique during the life of the session. However, once the session terminates, the same ID can be used by another thread at a later time.
We've thought in the past about adding some limited search capabilities to SpamFilter's GUI, but always opted against it, as usually admins are able to access the database directly, and use the database tools at their disposal to perform much more flexible searches than we could offer. |
