Hi - we have recieved a lot of Russian spam lately, text like:

Конференц-зал в аренду в центре Москвы!

Помещение площадью 35 кв.м.: для проведения конференций, тренингов, семинаров.
Максимальная вместимость: 30 человек.
Цена аренды конференц-зала: 800 руб./час.
Минимальное время аренды: 3 часа

Any ide how to avoid this?

ostaa,

ou could try adding the following keywords in your keyword list:

Subject:koi8
koi8

We will soon (days) be releasing a new release of SpamFilter that will allow admins to block emails based on the email's charset.

Is this still planned, or should we be using keywords?

Good question?  This was originally reply posted on 19 March 2009 at 7:55pm and it now October 14th, 2009.  Any thoughts?

Ouch, I see we did drop the ball for the March 19 post, as that feature never made it in that month.

On October 11 we did pre-release SpamFilter v4.1.2.818 which allows the keywords to be used to scan for the email's charset. You can now specify keywords like:

charset="koi8-r"

to block specific charsets.
