Last couple of days i've people complaining that new items i add to the Expluded whitelist or Athorized To Emails won't be active.

When i look in SQL the Items are there and when i restart the Spamfilter Service also Spamfilter can see those Items like it should be.

Do i need to restart the Spamfilter Service after every Black/Whitelist item i add/remove or is something wrong with my server ?

The only line i could find in the logfile was this one.

Exception occurred during ChecktblReloadTableInfo: String or binary data would be truncated

It looks like this message is in the logfile every 5 seconds. Can you please tell me how i can found out what is causing this problem ?

Tnx

All changes to the databases are reloaded automatically by SpamFilter within 5 seconds. From the error you reported I suspect there may be an issue with the database.

It's possible that, if you migrated/restored/re-created the SpamFilter database, and/or migrated the SpamFilter installation somewhere else, this created a mixup with the actual patches applied to the database and with what SpamFilter thinks was applied.

I'd recommend having SpamFilter re-apply all the database patches that are needed. This may cause errors to be logged when the scripts are trying to add database fields that exist already, but these errors can be ignored.

To proceed, please:
  1. stop SpamFilter
  2. then find and remove the line starting with DBPatchesApplied= in the SpamFilter.ini file
  3. and then restart SpamFilter.
When done, the line you removed should have been automatically re-added.
If the problem still occurs after this, if you can then zip us (to support @ logsat.com) the activity logfile starting from when you restarted SpamFilter, we’ll try to figure out what is going on. If the zip is over 8MB in size, please let us know so we can provide you credentials to upload the file via FTP.
