Hi,
For a couple of month we trying to solve problem with "TBayesianThread - Exception occurred during LoadFromFile: Out of memory" next line "SpamFilterForm - corpus.db cannot be loaded, waiting 60 seconds". corpus.db file is about 15-16MB, deleted, restarted service - after couple of hours same problem. Corpus Db files are grown fast and we need to delete it every 2 days. How can we solve this problem? Also, we get "Exception occurred during RECEIVEMESSAGE: ( 1 2 2b 3 3a 4 5 6 7 8 9 11 12 13 15 16 111) Out of memory -- " when message with attachment received. Didn't find any solution or any suggestions what and how to check this issue. Please advice. Spamfilter ver. : v.4.0.1.785 Running on: OS - Win 2003 2 CPU 2GB of RAM Thanks. |

Vlad,
We're aware of this problem as it has been reported by multiple users, and have been trying to address it. As a side-note, please note that Bayesian filter technology was introduced in SpamFilter 7 years ago, but is now a bit old, and spammers can easily work around it. For this reason, this filter is the last to be used to check for spam, as the other filters are usually more effective. With large installations we actually recommend disabling this filter, both to gain in performance and in accuracy, as again, spamers have learned to write emails in such a way as to bypass the Bayesian filters quite easily.

As Roberto mentions Bayesian is not such an effective system in Spamfilter anymore, we disabled it long ago and really did not notice any difference.
I know other systems still use the technique, but they employ the Bayesian hashes on a domain or per user basis. Edited by yapadu - 30 June 2010 at 1:41am |
