Update. I have restarted the service/process several times and rebooted the server. it seems as long as I have the baysean db active it is not releasing connections. normally we average about 8 current inbound connections, but when I was watching it today, it started like normal but would slowly grow to over 200 connections... as the connections grew so did the errrors. I could see that it was disconnecting some connections so I really don't know what the problem is. Thanks. |

We've had a couple of reports of similar problems and are trying to pinpoint the problem. Can you please let us know what build number you were using? If you login your registered user are on the website, there's a link to download the latest pre-release build 309. Could you please see if that build solves the problem? Roberto F. |

Hi Roberto,
I upgraded to version 309 and activated the quarantine to the mysql database. First when I tried to activate the database it said some of my tables were messed up and to chooose a script to fix it. as soon as I clicked on anything the service stopped. I then dropped my spamfilter database and recreated it with no problems in mysql, then I restarted the service, and resetup the database in spamfilter. however when I click refresh database list nothing happened, but when I clicked hide list the service stopped again. I had to switch back to version 302 as this is my production server so I can't have it down too much. I hope this helps. I will try to test later today with a test server..Thanks.

Keizersozay, Sorry for the delay in answering this. While we've never been able to reproduce your errors, in the latest pre-release build 312 we're made some internal coding changes to help prevent the problems you're having. Could you please let us know if that build helps? If not, could you email us at support@logsat.com the spamfilter activity log for a whole day so we can try to see if the logs tell us anything? I just experienced the same error and want to provide information that may help you determine the problem. It seems that it is related to the inbound message formatting. The message causing this repeatedly on our system was an inbound email with nine forwarded messages attached from an Outlook 2000 SR1 (not Outlook Express) client. The error message again was: We are running (don't laugh) version 1.2.0.178 Hope this helps! |

Steve, If you are able to replicate the behavior we'd like to do our best to see if it's a problem with SpamFilter or not. Please contact us at support@logsat.com if you're able to provide us with a copy of the message. Roberto F. |

Actually I'm not able to do anything with the SpamFilter server anymore. It began to reproduce the above error message in response to every inbound message. I had to bypass it until it can be fixed or replaced. Right now with it bypassed, every time it tries to "process queue directory" it logs the following message repeatedly. Exception occurred during DumpLog: Stream write error We've been running this same SpamFilter without any recent changes. Why would this suddenly fail? I originally thought this had something to do with a particular message sent through it (which did cause problems) but I think we're faced with a bigger issue now. Steve |
