Are there any steps taken to getting SF to work with Windows Server 2008? I will be implementing a whole new server array with 2008 and hope to still be able to use SF. I've tested it and it still works but there's no icon on the taskbar when I log on to the console. The service runs fine and functions. And I can still start up the stand alone console to access all features. But this way I can not see any activity in the activity log tab.

Maybe you have only to login with "/console" added as it happens with 2003 servers.

Thnx Simone for the idea. That's exactly my problem. That's not working anymore. And in the new RDP client from Microsoft it's replaced by the /admin parameter. Allthough /console can still be used. |

Are you able to see the SpamFilter's tray icon when viewing the actual physical screen of the server (not via RDP)?
If so, can you please try to:

Update - If you RDP into the 2008 Server, you should see on the screen a "Interactive Services dialog detection" popup box. If you click on the "Show me the message" area, that will display the new isolated "services" console which displays the services' GUIs. SpamFilter's will be there.
What we did see however is that if you close SpamFilter's service window using the "X" in the upper right corner of the window, this will prevent the "Interactive Services dialog detection" dialog from appearing ever again, and thus there appears to be no way of displaying the GUI (SpamFilter will still run in the background). Currently the only way we see to bring it back is to stop/restart SpamFilter. We currently have no plans to address this as Microsoft's "solution" requires a total rewriting of SpamFilter to separate the GUI from the service. As many other applications are being affected by this new service isolation, we'll be waiting to see if Microsoft will improve compatibility with existing applications. |

More info about the changes in Server 2008 here
The /admin option replaces the /console option in Win XP SP3 also. |
