I'm wondering how can we block those emails that don't actually have any text in the message body (they may only have a html picture but the subject may have text) Such an example please see the following:

Message subject: the amazing chillow comfort system

There is no text in message body but a linked picture, if you look at the source:

<html><body><div align="center">
<a href="http://prmdy.com/d.cgi?j=2514rARhHGEW268022710FegSRkKZ2497.html"><img src="http://prmdly.com/images/p/86.jpg?268022710_2514" border="0"></a>
</div></body></html>

Can we have a RegEx to block this kind of spam? Thanks

Danny,

You won't like my answer .... I don't like it either!  I can very easily block it but it will block TONS of valid email.  The only recorse is to do what I do ... I run my own dnsbl list and once a day, I parse my mail logs against IP's that messages like these come in from.  If I find more than 10 on the single IP, I add it to the dns server.  If I find more than 25 from the same clacc C, I block the whole C block.  I the submit the message to njabl as a spam and see if they block it.

Frank,

A dnsbl is simply a DNS server configured with the proper blackhole zones.  I am using Windows 2000's DNS server.

I know, thought you are maybe using a special Software like this one: http://cr.yp.to/djbdns/rbldns.html - or one with some special features. I am still looking for a Windows based local blacklist system, able to handle automatic input via spamtraps and manual submissions. Frank
