Im currently running 2 regestered spamfilters with my company. One is a windows 2003 server, the other is a windows 2000 server. Both are using the new .201 build. Both are using the queue manager through a SQL server i have setup via a connection string. The servers have good connections to the server and are able to write data just fine to the tables. However, im not able to display any of the queue/data through the spamfilter at all. If i click the refresh button i get nothing from the database. It acts as though there is no data. Also, if i go in through enterprise manager to the tables and i look at the data, it's showing no expiration date on the spam even though i have the filter set to delete mail after 3 days. (The field is set to 0 so it never deletes it). Im pretty sure the account i have setup for that dbase has full permissions to the tables at this time. other then not pulling the data into the spamfilter and not setting a deletion date, everything else seems to be working ok. Im down to manually deleting the email by typing in a expression to delete the email by the date i choose, and i do not have the ability to foward any spam mail at all. Anyone got any ideas?

Kevin, SpamFilter has been designed to support multiple-server environments, all writing to the same database. To help us identify the problem, could you please let us know (if present) the value of the following entry tblServersServerID=1 in the SpamFilter.ini files on both servers? We'd also need to know your SQL server version, and if you have a table in the SpamFilter database called "tblServers", and the contents of that table (it should have at least two records, each with the ID of the above ini file entry and the server name). The first server upgraded shows only tblServersServerID=1 and nothing else beside or below that. The second server upgraded shows tblServersServerID=2 And nothing else. "We'd also need to know your SQL server version, and if you have a table in the SpamFilter database called "tblServers", and the contents of that table (it should have at least two records, each with the ID of the above ini file entry and the server name)" Im running SQL Server 2000 fully patched and updated. There is a table in the database called tblservers with the following info: ServerID ServerName 2 (hostname of box2) 1 (hostname of box1)

Actually, i just fixed the problem. It seems that when the filter software sets up the tblServers info, it only uses the first part of the host name and not the realm that the host is on. My servers are part of a domain. I added hostname with the realm to the ServerName Table and then Restarted the spamfilter service on the machines. It seems to be working fine now. Somthing you might wanna look into Robert. |
