I am getting a bunch of emails to <u-name-it>@mydomain.com. What is the best way to accept and limit the acceptance of emails to only valid addresses? I have "mydomain.com" listed as a local domain in the white lists. Since this particular domain has just a few valid email adresses, I would rather just add the valid addresses to a white list and reject everything else. Is this possible using the Authorized To Emails tab? If so, do I have to list all valid addresses for all domains on the system? For instance I have 5 email addresses at mydomain.com but hundreds at other domains. I would like to just have mydomain limitted. Is it possible? Please advise. -jeff |

Jeff, The "Authorized To" whitelist contains a list of the only emails that will be accepted. It is a global list, valid for all local domains that SpamFilter accepts. It's not possible to specify authorized users for only one domain but continue receiving emails for all other domains. We thought about this for a while before replying to see if there were other simple workarounds to answer your question, but unfortunately could not find one. A not-so-elegant solution would be to run two instances of SpamFilter listening on two separate IP. One is configured to receive jsut the one domain with 5 emails. The other to receive all others. This will require changing the MX record for the one domain to reroute emails to the other SpamFilter instance. Roberto F. |

Jeff, In the present configuration, adding any address to the Allowed To Address list will exclude anything that is not on it. HOWEVER, if you only have a few domains, you can use wild cards and / or regular expressions to include whole domains. I am afraid, that is the best I have for an answer. Dan S.

you can use the ms exchange or notes adres template to export emailadresses to the file(same name -> overwrite) to have a daily update from your authorised rcpt to: adresses, any harvesting bot now gets a logsat like it does an ldap user verify on your server, works great but is very hard an technical to do, but in the long run, it saves a lot of time.
