Real-time logging is available as a debugging tool in (the rare!) cases where SpamFilter crashes so hard that the event causing the crash is not spooled to the "standard" logfiles. Due to realtime logging, the activity logfile will need to be available exclusively to SpamFilter, and interfering with it will cause problems.

Please note that if we understand your needs correctly, you can simply disable the RealTimeDiskLogging and allow SpamFilter to function with the default settings. With the defaults, SpamFilter will update the logfile every 60 seconds, allowing plenty of time for you to retrieve/rename the active logs. Please note that if there are any errors/exceptions in SpamFilter (you should not have any of these under normal circumstances) SpamFilter will force a log flush to disk immediately regardless of the 60 second timer.
