I have the new beta running and the .asp pages working. I noticed that in the admin interface, there is no check all and delete selected options in the Quarantine window. I think I would still like to have them so I could clear the Quarantine directory of emails that were sent to email accounts that are no longer valid and also users who don't use the web pages to clear their spam emails. All in all, it is great. Once you get everything working it seem to run faster then before. My SQL server is only has 3% more load then before so performance is good. |

George, I may be off base on this one but I believe the final intention is to use a web interface for the Database maintainance. I am working on that for our install now. My bigest problem is trying to decide what, as an administrator, I want to see and how many per page. We already have around 10,000 in the DB as of only 2:30 this morning! At this moment, I have to expire time set to 5 days so the list will get HUGE! Dan S. |

Dan, I guess I should wait on drinking the Smirnoff's until after everything is working ;^)

George, I can't think of anything that would justify a delay in drinking the Smirnoff's (or in my case, the St. Pauli Girl). I completely agree on the having the option to "Manually Prune" the undeliverables out but I spend a lot of time trying to write scripts to do as much of my general server "cleanups" as possible because there are not enough hours in the day to watchdog everything. I just set my expire to 5 days and am going to see what size the DB stabalizes at. (HEY ROBERTO...ADD A SPELL CHECKER TO THIS SO I DON'T LOOK AS BAD AS I DO! :) ). I started collecting at about 2:30AM EDT and am up to about 14,000 messages with a DB size of 100Meg. This seems fairly tame bur one mail bomb could change the whole picture. I still think a web admin is the way to go for my setup. Regards Dan |

Well it has been 24 hours and 13,000 blocked emails later. The SQL quarantine is great. It is so much faster then the old way. What used to take an hour to scroll through only take a few minutes now. Since I moved everything over to the new server this Filtering proxy rocks. Wish list items. 1) Ability to delete multiple emails in the asp page for the client. I have had a few requests for that already. Clients get so many junk emails that they don't want to have to delete each one (one at a time). 2) Reject details displayed in the asp page. I will see about doing this myself. Though my asp coding is not the greatest. Guess I'll drink a few Smirnoff's and see how creative I can get. :^) yeehaw |

To modify the listspam.asp to show the keywords and other details is real easy. It only takes adding two table data fields to the page and you get the reject details. I would post it here but don't think it will display correctly. If anyone wants the changed page send me an email at george@clipboard.com and I'll send it to you. I am sure that LogSat would add it at some time since a lot of users will want it. g |
